Ensemble Deputies
As the Ensemble Deputy, you will serve as the liaison between your Cast and the Creative Team of a given project, process, and/or production.

- Upholding and modeling set rehearsal expectations, including but not limited to all Pathways & Policies and Session Agreements established throughout the course of the process.
- Working to establish and cultivate a culture of community and care.
Logistic
- Establishing a line of communication / point of contact pathway with your cast for potential questions, comments, and/or concerns that you would then bring to the Creative Team. These pathways can be in person before/during/after a session or through phone and/or email.
- Establishing a designated phone/email that you can be reached at and confirm this with the Stage Manager and/or designated parties to be included on all necessary contact sheets and in Rehearsal Reminders.
- Establishing a location you feel comfortable discussing potential questions, comments, and/or concerns with your ensemble members.
- Maintaining a direct line of communication with the Creative Team, connecting promptly before/during/after sessions or through phone/email to connect with any questions, comments, and/or concerns that have been communicated.
- Attending periodically scheduled Ensemble Deputy Check Ins with the Creative Team to discuss how the process is going.
- Establishing a line of communication as the production’s Safety Officer with your Cast & Crew
- Safety Officer responsibilities include:
- Developing a thorough understanding of the production’s Health/Safety Pathways & Policies
- Developing a thorough understanding of the production’s Information regarding "Majors" (people 18+) & "Minors" (people under the age of 18)
- Developing a thorough understanding of any additional production policies and protocols as they are implemented
- Modeling - at all times - set Health/Safety Pathways & Policies and Information regarding "Majors" (people 18+) & "Minors" (people under the age of 18)
- Establishing an awareness of the space each session and bringing any questions, comments, and/or potential concerns to the Creative Team to assist in implementing and upholding set Health/Safety Pathways & Policies

Election Process
- Ensemble Deputy list of Responsibilities is distributed to the Ensemble to review the first week of rehearsals.
- Ensemble members may nominate themselves to be considered for Ensemble Deputy by signing up with the Stage Manager(s) and/or designated parties during a designated time frame.
- Ensemble members will then be given a voting ballot with all potential nominees to fill out anonymously during a designated session.
- Ensemble members will be asked to spread out across the space and a designated location will be established to submit voting ballots to uphold anonymity throughout the process.
- If possible, the Creative Team will step out of the room during voting / ballot submissions.
- If "Minors" are involved in the process, the Creative Team may remain in the room as a neutral party, aiming to not influence or affect the voting process in any capacity.
- Based on the results of the voting process, a Ensemble Deputy will be elected.
- If a Ensemble Deputy needs to “tap out” of the production, “tap out” of the responsibility of being Ensemble Deputy while remaining involved, or be removed from the process for any reason, the outlined election process resets and a new Ensemble Deputy will be elected for the remainder of the process.
