About OUT LOUD Theatre
PVD MOVEMENT ENSEMBLE
Providence, Rhode Island’s exclusively experimental movement ensemble of artists, led by Founding Artistic Director, Kira Hawkridge and core ensemble members Marc Tiberiis II, Siobhan LaPorte-Cauley, Natasha Cole, and Justin Fortin.
COMING SOON: SEASON 7
OUT LOUD Theatre creates highly physical, visually arresting, visceral, immersive, and collaborative ensemble productions “where movement dominates over dialogue, and the imaginations of the ensemble run wild.”*
Utilizing their original movement ensemble methodology and lab mentality, OUT LOUD Theatre devises, adapts, and reimagines new and existing material into a yearly 3-Part series based on a common and expansive theme chosen by the ensemble (ie: Season 4: I Am the Public Domain in 2016, Season 5: That Way Madness Lies in 2017, Season 6: Seeing is Believing in 2018, and Season 7: Mortals & Monsters coming in 2019).
OUT LOUD’s work has spanned from their circus themed adaptation of King Lear, to their fully immersive and interactive 1300sq ft Art Installation and Performance Art Exhibit based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland entitled WONDER, to their most recent wholly original and devised production of ESCAPE, focused on one woman’s journey through grief after the death of her twin brother, told entirely through devised movement and music.
Located on the 4th Floor of The Mathewson Street United Methodist Church on 134 Mathewson Street in their Black Box space (The Mathewson Street Theater), OUT LOUD Theatre has been an Artist in Residence through 134 Collaborative since 2016. The 134 Collaborative is an initiative in partnership with The Mathewson Street United Methodist Church whose mission is to “bring together like-minded organizations to build a community collaborative for social good in the heart of downtown Providence, RI.”

“There’s no one who’s doing work quite like Kira Hawkridge and her team at OUT LOUD. When you see an OUT LOUD show, it has a style, it has a flavor all its own. They continue to produce highly stylized shows that remind audiences of the potential of the medium. If you’re looking for some art-house theater, OUT LOUD Theatre on Mathewson Street is your first stop.” – Motif Magazine
OUT LOUD’s longest and most extensive collaborative partnership is with Piquant Photo, led by RI photographer, Justine M. Johnson, who is an integral part of OUT LOUD Theatre’s ensemble process and visual identity. By exploring the boundaries of visual art and theatre, OUT LOUD Theatre and Piquant Photo have developed a striking and diverse portfolio of imagery spanning from 2014-Present.
