OUT LOUD's Season 8 production of Tartuffe was originally set to open in April of this year as a main-stage, in-person production. Weeks away from Opening Night, OUT LOUD made the call to reschedule all in-person programming in response to the initial shutdowns in March. Soon after, the far reaching consequences of COVID-19 became clear, prompting OUT LOUD to make the definitive decision to postpone all in-person programming indefinitely, transitioning to entirely virtual platforms for Season 8 in 2020, as well as for the foreseeable future.

Journey behind the scenes as the Tartuffe ensemble engages with OUT LOUD’s unique Devising Process and Ensemble Methodology, Collective Breath - highlighting Duality, Radical Collaboration, Collaborative Set and Costume Designing, and the in-depth process of engaging with this project as they transitioned online.

“This podcast is a glimpse into our virtual rehearsal space, how our devising process has evolved and adapted, and how we have nurtured each other creatively during a pandemic.” - Beth Alianiello

“Adapting to a situation like what we've been faced with, and having that adaptation be productive and meaningful is an incredible feat. I think recording discussions about what we've been able to do over the past couple of months is a great hole-in-the-wall peek into how we devise and collaborate in our processes, albeit in a virtual format.” - Derek Smith

“This podcast is a path for us to honor what we've built during this project; it's also provided a space to reflect upon what we've learned along the way, particularly in shifting our process from a physical space to a digital space. From an outside perspective, it gives listeners an inside look at our devising process and methodology.” - Natasha Cole

“It’s been an exciting opportunity to simultaneously experience my first OUT LOUD work as an ensemble member, and then the experience of contributing to this podcast in which we get to share the experience of working on an OUT LOUD show. Audiences who have been as captivated as I have by OUT LOUD’s work should take this unique opportunity to tune in and experience a peak “behind the curtain”! It has been exhilarating.” - Audrey Crawley

Join the Tartuffe ensemble as they reflect on their experiences with this project, Season 8, and OUT LOUD as a collective, unpacking our collaborative past - present - and the potential  for our future.
